8/23/11 Traffic Update for NID’s Banner Cascade Pipeline Project Construction

Construction on NID’s Banner Cascade Pipeline project continues on Banner Mountain during good weather conditions between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
Construction on Banner Lava Cap Road near Red Gate Road continues.  Residents should expect delays up to 20 minutes during construction activities; watch for flaggers to safely direct traffic.  Construction equipment will continue to use Red Gate Road to access the Overland section.  Residents should expect minimal delays on Red Gate Road during construction activities; delays may occasionally be up to twenty minutes.
Curb replacement to resume on Wednesday, August 24 on Idaho Maryland Road, between Lee Lane and Banner Lava Cap Road, and on Banner Lava Cap Road, between Idaho Maryland Road and Wings of Morning Drive.  Residents should expect delays up to 20 minutes during construction activities. Watch for flaggers to safely direct traffic through the construction zone.

Raw water pipeline installation will be completed on Oak Ridge Drive and Lola’s Echo Road this week.   Work will progress north onto Red Dog Cross Road starting Wednesday, August 24th.  Residents should expect delays up to 20 minutes during construction activities. Watch for flaggers to safely direct traffic through the construction zone.   NID is coordinating vehicle traffic in an effort to help families get to the bus stop and school on time; therefore vehicles travelling into town on Red Dog Cross Road will have an open lane until 8:00 AM.

Raw water pipeline installation continues on Wings of Morning Drive and is expected to cross Clipper Creek Road Thursday, August 25th.   Residents should expect delays up to 20 minutes while the raw water pipeline installation crosses Clipper Creek Road.  Detours will be available without delays after construction crosses Clipper Creek Road.  The east end detour on Wings of Morning Drive is available for residential traffic as construction activities now block through use of the road. Construction equipment and trucks will enter and exit Wings of Morning Drive from both ends.  Turnouts are available along the alignment route allowing for passing residential traffic.
