Traffic Update for NID’s Banner Cascade Pipeline Project Construction

Construction on NID’s Banner Cascade Pipeline project continues on Banner Mountain.  Curb installation will be underway on Banner Lava Cap Road, Idaho Maryland Road, and Lee Lane 12/13 through 12/17, weather dependent; traffic will be limited to one lane with possible delays up to twenty minutes.  Watch for construction signage and flaggers as they help safely direct traffic through the construction zones.

Curbs will be installed on

Banner Lava Cap Road, Idaho Maryland Road, and Lee Lane

on December 13 through 17 if weather conditions allow.

Flaggers will be on site to safely direct traffic.  Emergency vehicles will be given immediate access.

Banner Cascade Pipeline Project Construction Schedule 12/13/10 to 1/5/11
Due to the holidays, the next update will be available on January 6th, 2011.  Construction activities will proceed as per this schedule, weather dependent.
Madrone Forest Drive: 
·        Finalizing culvert installation; no traffic delays are expected.
·        Final clean-up is in progress.
·        Phase one of restoration, soil stabilization, is completed; the contractor will maintain slopes through the winter.  Phase two of restoration, tree and vegetation replanting, will be scheduled for the fall of 2011.
Overland between Madrone Forest Drive and the airport: 
·        Phase one of restoration, soil stabilization, is completed; the contractor will maintain slopes through the winter.  Phase two of restoration, vegetation replanting, will be scheduled for later this fall.
Airport & Loma Rica Water Treatment Plant: 
·        Final clean-up along pipeline route is underway.
·        Loma Rica Water Treatment Plant structures being constructed.
Lee Lane: 
·        Curb installation to occur 12/13 to 12/17, weather dependent; traffic will be limited to one lane with possible delays up to twenty minutes.  The final lift of pavement will be installed in spring of 2011.
·        Testing of the 48” raw water pipeline will resume in the spring.
·        Tie-in to Idaho Maryland Road to be scheduled.
Idaho Maryland Road, between Lee Lane and Banner Lava Cap Road:

·        The contractor is waiting for weather conditions to improve in order to install the treated water pipeline.
·        Testing of the 48” raw water pipeline will resume in the spring.

Dec 17 Traffic Update

Construction on NID’s Banner Cascade Pipeline project continues on Banner Mountain.  Testing on Banner Lava Cap Road, Idaho Maryland Road, and Lee Lane is being prepared and taking place inside the 48” raw water pipeline. Traffic will be minimally affected, if at all; no delays are expected to occur.  Curb installation will be underway on Banner Lava Cap Road, Idaho Maryland Road, and Lee Lane 12/13 and 14, weather dependent; traffic will be limited to one lane with possible delays up to twenty minutes.  Watch for construction signage and flaggers as they help safely direct traffic through the construction zones.
