8/29/11 Traffic Update for NID’s Banner Cascade Pipeline Project Construction


Construction on NID’s Banner Cascade Pipeline project continues on Banner Mountain during good weather conditions between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM.  NID is coordinating vehicle traffic in an effort to help families get to the bus stop and school on time. Therefore, vehicles travelling into town on will have an open lane until 8:00 AM.

Raw water pipeline installation will progress north onto Red Dog Cross Road from Lola’s Echo Road.  Residents should expect delays up to 20 minutes during construction activities. Watch for flaggers to safely direct traffic through the construction zone.   

Residents should expect delays up to 20 minutes while the raw water pipeline installation on Wings of Morning crosses the intersection of Clipper Creek Road Wednesday, August 31.  Detours will be available without delays after construction crosses the Clipper Creek Road intersection.  Additionally, the east end detour on Wings of Morning Drive will not be available as construction activities are blocking through use of the road. Sesame Street is open for residential traffic instead. Construction equipment and trucks will continue to enter and exit Wings of Morning Drive from both ends.  Turnouts are available along the alignment route allowing for passing residential traffic.

Construction on the Overland section’s creek crossing will continue to create heavier than usual traffic on Red Gate Road, Banner Lava Cap Road, and Old Tunnel Road.  Residents should expect minimal delays during construction activities.

·        Raw water pipeline installation is completed.  Pipeline testing will start in mid-September.  
Red Gate Road:
·        Raw water pipeline installation is completed on Red Gate Road.  Construction equipment will continue to use Red Gate Road to access the Overland section.  Residents should expect minimal delays during construction activities.
Overland from Madrone Forest Drive to Red Gate Road:
·        Work at the creek crossing will continue this week followed by restoration.
Madrone Forest Drive: Final cleanup ongoing.  No delays anticipated.
Overland between Madrone Forest Drive and the airport: Completed.
Airport and Loma Rica Water Treatment Plant:  Raw water pipeline
installation is completed from Lee Lane to the Loma Rica WTP.  General clean up to follow this week.
Lee Lane:   Curb replacement has been postponed due to neighborhood residents’ request; resume date to be determined.

The east end detour on Wings of Morning Drive is available for residential traffic as construction activities now block through use of the road. Construction equipment and trucks will enter and exit Wings of Morning Drive from both ends.  Turnouts are available along the alignment route allowing for passing residential traffic. No traffic delays are anticipated.
Raw water pipeline installation has reached the east end of Red Gate Road and will proceed toward Banner Lava Cap Road.  Expect delays up to twenty minutes; construction and logging equipment as well as truck traffic will be present on Red Gate Road and Banner Lava Cap Road heading toward Old Tunnel Road.
Curb replacement on Banner Lava Cap Road, Idaho Maryland Road, and Lee Lane is scheduled to begin Wednesday, 8/10.  Expect 20 minute delays.  Flaggers will safely direct traffic through the construction zones; watch for signage.

8/1/11 Traffic Update for NID’s Banner Cascade Pipeline Project Construction

Construction on NID’s Banner Cascade Pipeline project continues on Banner Mountain during good weather conditions between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM.  Raw water pipeline installation continues on Wings of Morning Drive east of Wild Lily Place. The east end detour on Wings of Morning Drive is available for residential traffic as construction activities now block through use of the road. Construction equipment and trucks will enter and exit Wings of Morning Drive from both ends.  Turnouts are available along the alignment route allowing for passing residential traffic. No traffic delays are anticipated.
Raw water pipeline installation is underway on the Thomas Ranch at the end of Red Gate Road.  Expect delays up to twenty minutes; construction and logging equipment as well as truck traffic will be present on Red Gate Road and Banner Lava Cap Road heading toward Old Tunnel Road.
Work is nearly complete on Banner Lava Cap Road, Idaho Maryland Road, and Lee Lane.  Expect delays to be minimal while general cleanup is underway this week; however delays may rarely be up to twenty minutes in duration.  Flaggers will safely direct traffic through the construction zones; watch for signage.
