4/25/11 Traffic Update for NID’s Banner Cascade Pipeline Project Construction

Construction on NID’s Banner Cascade Pipeline project continues on Banner Mountain during good weather conditions.  Watch for construction signage and flaggers as they help safely direct traffic through the construction zones. Installation of the 10 inch treated water pipeline and the 48 inch raw water tie-in on Idaho Maryland Road will resume Tuesday, 4/26, between Banner Lava Cap Road and Lee Lane.  If possible, use Banner Lava Cap Road as an alternate route to avoid construction delays up to twenty minutes.   

Logging activities will resume Thursday, 4/28, on Wings of Morning Drive between Clipper Creek Road and Banner Lava Cap Road.  Detour signage will be set up to direct traffic through the construction zone.  No delays are anticipated at this time. 

Vault installation, joint sealing, and testing will be scheduled on Idaho Maryland Road and Banner Lava Cap Road, weather dependent. Traffic will be limited to one lane while construction activities are underway; expect minimal delays.

is underway near the intersection with St. Ledger’s Forest Road.
Work will proceed toward Lee Lane, where the raw water tie-in is being installed.  Use Banner Lava Cap Road as an alternate route to avoid the construction.

Madrone Forest Drive: Restoration to be scheduled for the fall of 2011.
Overland between Madrone Forest Drive and the airport: Construction and
restoration is completed.
Airport and Loma Rica Water Treatment Plant: Construction is ongoing;
however, activities should not affect nearby residents. Restoration to be
scheduled for the fall of 2011.
Lee Lane:
·        Raw water tie-in to Idaho Maryland Road to be installed Tuesday, 4/26.
·        The final lift of pavement and testing of the raw and treated water pipelines will resume in the spring.
·        Restoration to be scheduled for fall 2011.
Idaho Maryland Road, between Lee Lane and Banner Lava Cap Road:

Traffic update 4/7

(Editors comment:  Just when you thought it was safe to leave your dark and cold home through feet of snow and dozens of downed trees and limbs, here comes NID again to brighten your travel day! )

Installation of the treated water pipeline on Idaho Maryland Road is scheduled to begin Monday, April 11th.   Work will be underway between Banner Lava Cap Road and Lee Lane.  Delays may be up to twenty minutes.  If possible, use Banner Lava Cap Road as an alternate route to avoid construction delays.

Activity has started on
Wings of Morning Drive and will continue during good weather conditions. 

Nevada City Engineering has marked trees to be removed with a blue ring. Staking of the temporary construction easement (TCE) will resume and logging activities will begin shortly thereafter, weather dependent. NID inspectors will be on site full-time to ensure Robinson Enterprises’ employees stay within the TCE and to take care of any unforeseen events should they occur.  Orange fencing delineating the TCE will then be installed.

will be scheduled, weather dependent. Flaggers will be onsite to direct
traffic; minimal delays are expected.
·        The final lift of pavement will be installed in spring of 2011.
·        Phase one of restoration, soil stabilization, is completed; the contractor
will maintain slopes through the winter. Phase two of restoration, tree
and vegetation replanting, will be scheduled for the fall of 2011.
Banner Lava Cap Road, between Idaho Maryland Road and Wings of
Morning Drive:
·        Vault installation, joint sealing, and testing of the 48” raw water pipeline
will be scheduled, weather dependent. Flaggers will be onsite to direct
traffic; minimal delays are expected.
Wings of Morning Drive:
·        Staking and logging to continue, weather dependent. Affected property
owners will be notified 72 hours prior to the beginning of logging.
Opalite Way/Snow Mtn. Flow Control/Overland: Logging to begin, weather
dependent.
Red Dog Cross Road, Lola’s Echo Road, and Oak Ridge Road: Logging to
begin in April.
