6/28/11 Traffic Update for NID’s Banner Cascade Pipeline Project Construction

Construction on NID’s Banner Cascade Pipeline project continues on Banner Mountain during good weather conditions.  Watch for construction signage and flaggers as they help safely direct traffic through the construction zones. The final lift of pavement on Banner Lava Cap Road, Idaho Maryland Road, and Lee Lane is scheduled for installation on July 5^th and 6^th starting at 7:00 AM.   Flaggers will be on site to direct traffic; delays up to 20 minutes are expected.  Use an alternate route if possible.

On July 5^th, the paved eastern end of Wings of Morning Drive will be ground in place to Sesame Street in preparation for the installation of the raw water pipeline.  Raw water pipeline installation continues along the east end of Wings of Morning Drive.  The east end detour on WOMD will be available for residential traffic as construction activities will now block through use of the road; watch for signage.  Construction equipment and trucks will enter and exit Wings of Morning Drive from both ends from now until the project is completed.  Turnouts are available along the alignment route allowing for passing residential traffic.

General clean up on Lee Lane continues. Minimal delays are expected, however they may be up to twenty minutes in duration.

6/27/11 to 7/22/11

■ Banner Lava Cap Rd to E. George WTP: To be determined.

■ Red Gate Road: To be determined.

■ Overland from Madrone Forest Drive to Red Gate Road: Tree removal and

stump grinding on Thomas Ranch will take place this week.

■ Madrone Forest Drive: Final cleanup this week.  No delays anticipated.

■ Overland between Madrone Forest Drive and the airport: Completed.

■ Airport and Loma Rica Water Treatment Plant: Construction is ongoing.

■ Lee Lane:

·        The final lift of pavement is scheduled for July 5^th and 6^th starting at 7:00 AM.   Flaggers will be on site to direct traffic; expect delays up to 20 minutes.  Find an alternate route, if possible.

·        Treated water is now available for residents adjacent to the alignment; contact NID Customer Service at 530-273-6185 for information. 

·        General cleanup will continue this week, expect minimal delays.

·        Work to finish installing pipeline across SWROA lot 3 toward the airport will begin soon. 

■ Idaho Maryland Road, between Lee Lane and Banner Lava Cap Road:

·        The final lift of pavement is scheduled for July 5^th and 6^th starting at 7:00 AM.   Flaggers will be on site to direct traffic; expect delays up to 20 minutes.  Find an alternate route, if possible.

·        Treated water is now available for residents adjacent to the alignment; contact NID Customer Service at 530-273-6185 for information. 

■ Banner Lava Cap Road, between Idaho Maryland Road and Wings of

Morning Drive:

·        The final lift of pavement is scheduled for July 5^th and 6^th starting at 7:00 AM.   Flaggers will be on site to direct traffic; expect delays up to 20 minutes.  Find an alternate route, if possible.

■ Wings of Morning Drive (WOMD):

·        Raw water pipeline installation will reach paved section of WOMD this week; the east end of WOMD will be available for residential traffic. 

·        On Tuesday July 5^th, in preparation of raw water pipeline installation, the pavement will be ground in place from the east end to Sesame Street. The road will remain gravel until the construction is complete. 

·        One water truck will be dedicated to the WOMD area watering the road throughout the day to apply dust control measures during construction.  

·        Construction equipment and trucks will enter and exit Wings of Morning Drive from both ends.  Turnouts are available along the alignment route allowing for passing residential traffic.

■ Opalite Way/Snow Mountain Flow Control/Overland:

·        Building foundation work is progressing.

■Red Dog Cross Road, Lola’s Echo Road, and Oak Ridge Road:

·         Stump grinding is scheduled for Friday July 1; no traffic delays anticipated.   

·         Pipeline installation is scheduled for July.  Advanced notice of the construction will be given.
