Traffic update 4/7

(Editors comment:  Just when you thought it was safe to leave your dark and cold home through feet of snow and dozens of downed trees and limbs, here comes NID again to brighten your travel day! )

Construction on NID’s Banner Cascade Pipeline project continues on Banner Mountain during good weather conditions.  Watch for construction signage and flaggers as they help safely direct traffic through the construction zones. Installation of the treated water pipeline on Idaho Maryland Road is scheduled to begin Monday, April 11th.   Work will be underway between Banner Lava Cap Road and Lee Lane.  Delays may be up to twenty minutes.  If possible, use Banner Lava Cap Road as an alternate route to avoid construction delays.

Vault installation, joint sealing, and testing will be scheduled on Idaho Maryland Road and Banner Lava Cap Road, weather dependent. Traffic will be limited to one lane while construction activities are underway; expect minimal delays.

If you need further information, contact Hugh Gordon, Project Ombudsman, at (530) 263-4352 or email: Hugh-lu@att.net

Wings of Morning Construction Meeting and Information - IMPORTANT

We received the following information from NID in the last couple of days.
Reminder that "the meeting" is scheduled for Feb 8, 2011, 6.30pm at Horsemen's Club, which I assume is off Brunswick at the horse show area.

The linked document is a construction plan for the Wings of Morning Drive pipeline installation that will occur this year.  This is to give you information concerning the work prior to the public meeting scheduled for Tuesday Feb 8th at 6:30pm at the Horseman’s Club on Brunswick Rd.   We hope that all residents in the Wings of Morning neighborhood will attend the meeting in order to get a better understanding of the upcoming work and traffic flow patterns associated with the construction.

The docs are on our website but these links will take you there directly.

Traffic diagram WOMD

Further, here are two related issues for you to respond to before the meeting. First, please let Hosea know if there is any interest in getting together before Tuesday, individually or in a group, to discuss the "draft" Construction Plan for Wings of Morning. Second, Hosea spoke with NID's Chief Engineer, Gary King, today on a number of philosophical subjects. On the subject of the pipeline project he said he was interested in hearing what the silent majority thought of the project. More to the point he asked for specifics, say twenty things people would change about the project. For any of you who take him up on this, Tuesday's meeting would be a good place share your vision for a kinder gentler pipeline project. If you decide to send it directly to him Hosea would appreciate a copy.

You can share your ideas with everyone if you want.  Email to bob2401.bannerpipeline@blogger.com with your ideas and they will post to this blog.  Or cc that email address.

Thanks,
Bob and Hosea.
